The coastline north of Agadir is one of the best surf regions in Africa. Taghazout and Tamraght are the heart of it — and with your own car, you can chase the best waves every day instead of waiting for taxis with your board.
Taghazout
Morocco’s surf capital is about 45 minutes up the coast from Agadir Airport. Famous breaks like Anchor Point attract experienced surfers, while the village itself is full of cafés, surf shops and sunset rooftops.
Tamraght
The laid-back neighbour of Taghazout is loved by surfers, yogis and digital nomads. It makes a perfect base: quieter than Taghazout, with easy access to beginner spots like Banana Beach.
Imsouane
A scenic drive further north, Imsouane has one of Africa’s longest waves — ideal for longboarders — and some of the best grilled sardines on the coast.
Why a car makes surfing easier
- Dawn surf checks along the coast without waiting for a ride
- Move to a different break when the wind changes
- Easy trips to Imsouane and Paradise Valley on flat days
- Space for boards, wetsuits and friends
Practical tips
- Planning to carry boards? Tell us when you book so we can suggest the right car, and protect the interior from sand and wet gear
- Park in busy, visible places and give the parking attendant a few dirhams
- Carry cash — many small cafés and shops in the villages prefer it
- Staying for a month or a season? Ask about our long-term rental rates
We offer free delivery to Taghazout Village and Tamraght Village, so your car can be waiting at your surf house. Choose your car or message us on WhatsApp.
